The Seasonal Flu

I guess I’ve caught it the other day on my way home from work. Well actually I’ve been feeling all crappy that whole day. I thought at first it was something I ate since my stomach was feeling funny. When I got home that’s when I felt my head throb and finally my colds went out. I had a bit of temperature for a while but I needed to get better since I was trying to complete a deadline at the office. Took 2 Tylenos and hoped for the best. When I woke up the next morning, man my throat felt like I swallowed a jack hammer. I wasn’t feeling any better either since my cold went from bad to worse. I had no choice but to stay at home and rest up.

I did however get to play the demos of Fracture and Pure on the PS3. The Fracture demo looks a bit bland but the concept is interesting though. Using the terrain in a third-person shooter seems okay at first but as I played through the game it felt like I was playing something sub-par to Gears of War. Pure though was a lot of fun. I can’t believe that Disney Interactive is behind this game. The tricks are easy to do and challenging. It was just a demo but I kept re-playing it over and over until I perfected the tricks. I might consider getting this maybe on a later date after I’m done with the more anticipated titles.

Was also able to update folding@home to Life with Playstation. Its still folding@home but it is no longer the focus. While you are contributing processing power to Stanford, you are able to view the world and its weather patterns in real time. I was surprised to see a Typhoon near the country and thought it was just some decoration but in fact was a real typhoon when I checked it online. It also displays the temperatures and the news happening in the area that you view. I’m liking it so far and of course I’ll be using more of this as I regularly contribute to folding@home. 

I’m getting rather addicted to Fight Night, Round 3 on the PSP. I’ve completed a career (wherein my boxer had 4 title belts) and currently starting another one but with a different style. This will hopefully keep me pre-occupied until Macross Ace Frontier on the PSP is out.

Have I mentioned that I still feel like crap? Stupid cold… T_T

Bill Gates and Seinfeld: The Odd Couple

I must say that these new ads are entertaining and at the same time puzzling. As the guys at Twit.tv put it, Microsoft is setting something up here. Though its not directly challenging all those Apple “Get a mac” ads, it sure is making you think a lot. For example, that old lady who apparently has been with the family for “12 years”, is the exact same length that Steve Jobs has been at Apple.

Anyway, its starting to get a bit more interesting but seriously. BIll, stop doing the robot. You are going to make me loose the respect that I have for you. >.>

The Large Hadron Collider: What the fuss is about?

So what’s the fuss about this thing? Lately, I’ve been hearing news about this great Scientific project. Scientists and enthusiasts think that this project will lead us to a better understanding as to what the universe is made of. Sceptics think that this is just a waste of money and our time. Some extremists (when I say extremists I mean the “end of the world” fanatics and some religious groups), even claim to say that the world will end when they fully activate this thing. Some even say this will herald in the return of Satan to Earth and will bring the beginning of the “Millenium” as stated in the Bible. I’ve even heard outrageous things like this being a “Stargate” and it will bring hordes of aliens to Earth to conquer and destroy us all.

Sheesh. This truly cements the saying that “people fear what they don’t understand” and say outrageous, stupid, hillarious and even to the point absurdly idiotic things. Anyway, I just hope those scientists don’t forget that God is in control of everything. Whatever happens in these experiments are fine by me. If its just to understand the universe a little bit better, then I’m all for it.

Its hard to see someone leave without them talking to you. You’ve had this cherished relationship together and yet now it seems that you are total strangers. Its as if nothing has happened. Its always too painful to see that happen, let alone experience it.
